Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sector is key to the Indian economy. This sector contributes to the 45% of nation’s industrial output, 40% of total exports and employees more than 40% of India’s workforce. Post COVID- 19 the role of SMEs, specifically the manufacturers of industrial and process equipment’s are important as many global companies exploring India as a possible sourcing destination. Are the companies ready and well equipped with technology to serve this demand?
SMEs in India still have more potential in deploying technology to improve design quality and foster innovation as against SMEs in developed countries. Use of traditional methods and thumb rules for designing their products result in heavier, costlier and reduced performance products.
Engineering simulation is a powerful tool (cost effective, faster) that can empower equipment manufacturers to quickly turnaround the project, enhance design, reduce operating cost, deliver breakthrough innovation and get the competitive edge. Using power of simulation some of the equipment manufactures was able to reduce product development time by 60-90%, material reduction by 15-20% and saving of more than 10 crores INR.
In this virtual summit, industry leaders and technology enablers from SMEs will try to bring out various technology challenges in industrial and process equipment manufacturing sector, and how simulation driven design development helps to counter them. We will discuss the relevant topics through keynote talks, panel discussion and focused technical presentations.
